I’m sorry ahead of time for the lack of pictures.
I’m a little jumbled up today with some personal stuff happening on the homefront, but I still wanted to blog (does that ever happen to you, where you want to write but don’t necessarily have anything worthwhile to talk about?). I actually do have some (what I think to be) good posts lined up for this week, but right now I just want to recap last week’s workouts and plan ahead for this weeks.
LAST WEEK
Monday: 2 mile walk and 1 hour drum/cardio class
Tuesday: 20 minutes of Pilates, 5 miles of awful speedwork that resulted in a trip to the Vitamin Shoppe for iron supplements
Wednesday: 40 minute bike ride with the brother
Thursday: 6 mile tempo run where I first started feeling decent again
Friday: Rest day
Saturday: 10 AWESOME miles
Sunday: 4 mile walk around the neighborhood in blissfully cool weather with a sunrise. Yes please.
As far as week’s go, I think it was all right, not stellar. Running-wise I hit my scheduled runs, even if they weren’t all wonderful. Cross-training-wise I think it was OK, but I wish I had made some time to go to yoga. Weights-wise I think it was a MAJOR fail. Hopefully this week I’ll do better at that. I actually still haven’t decided what kind of workout I’m going to do today but what I think I want my week to look like is this:
Monday: speedwork
Tuesday: runner’s strength training (more on that later this week) and either a 2 mile walk or a bike ride
Wednesday: hot yoga and a 2-3 mile walk
Thursday: tempo run
Friday: runner’s strength training and a 1 mile walk
Saturday: some form of cross-training or off
Sunday: 11 miles
Saturday and Sunday are interchangeable – I’d actually rather do the 11 on Saturday but I have a wedding Friday night so I’m trying to allow for that and play it by ear on how up I feel to running that long in the morning (especially because the wedding is in Austin). And Monday and Tuesday are interchangeable too depending on how I feel when I get home tonight.
This weekend was the first weekend in a LONG time that Sean and I had no really involved plans all weekend, which was a very nice switch from the norm.
Saturday after my 10-miler I ran errands and then Sean and I loaded up and he raced motocross again this weekend. He is a stud and took first in both the races he competed in. Sunday was pretty low-key, we didn’t do much during the day and then we went over to my parents for dinner so they could give Sean his birthday gift. I took zero pics because I just wanted to hang out with my family and not worry about blogging. It was the perfect kind of weekend, I really wish we had more where we weren’t jam-packed with back-to-back things to do… maybe some day soon…
What’d yall do this weekend? Anything exciting happen?
